Ignore the 5. Here's an idea of where I am trying to get at. Simple and with a lot of negative space. I don't know about the hierarchy though, I know I need more up, but there is so much due and so much going on in my personal life. I'll hopefully have more comps by the end of the week.

  1. Simple and clean, but I'm not sure where you're going with this.

  2. like in my comments on the cover, i think you can turn those little hair like edges into trees or landscape. your 5 is also very randomly place. try having the whole adobe cs5 name on the ad instead, but make sure to let the rgb paint drops the main focus.

  3. I agree with Nick. Again I'm not sure about the "creAtivity" ...I think i am missing something. I'm not sure of the point of labeling "RGB" I think you should in corporate it into the paint some how if you think its necessary. You might also want to play with punching up your colors for both designs...the red looks too orange-ish. It could be my screen but its something to considered.
    Good luck.

  4. The design is a good start but is lacking movement. Maybe try using paint streaks instead of blobs?

  5. ya I'd play around with it graphically and see what other paint like things could be used instead of blobs

  6. how about a real brush or pen using real ink or paint on real paper? then scanning that to get a real texture and more realistic depth.

it just looks too manufactured and fake.

    that being said regarding execution...
the concept isnt all that bad. rgb is the foundation of digital color. those lectures in class are sticking!!!

  7. Alan has a good idea with maybe making the edges trees or something; I thought that's what they were at first when I saw them from a distance. Maybe because it's Photoshop, you make it a feather texture or something?
