Adobe Photoshop thumbnails

I chose Adobe Creative Suite 5ive particularly Adobe Photoshop. At first I chose Illustrator because I though we were developing a logo also, but besides the logo I felt that Photoshop had a lot more I can do with design wise as far as the packaging goes, so I chose Photoshop. From my own experience here is what I can tell you about Photoshop: Photoshop is a image editing tool for graphic designers and photographers particularly in order to retouch, touch up, crop, distort, add, and/or eliminate certain features of a photograph. Photoshop can also be used to develop patterns, textures, and gradients in order to add to a design or photo. Photoshop also is a great tool to put collages together as far as coming up with a design that speaks to the viewer, yet amazes even the most talented designers out there with precision in the different techniques used. Photoshop is a software application that designers use particularly in distorting "pixelated images" (I mean pixels within the image itself, not fuzzy pics), whereas illustrator is more developed with a grid system and mathematics. Therefore, I chose photoshop because it will not restrict me design wise. I just thank God Adobe has updated it's software because I don't know what we would do with photoshop 1 where you only have one layer to work with. :)

  1. It's a little bit confusing so I think I'd have to see some ideas digitally. I like the whole paint strokes and splatter ideas but again it's hard to understand what it might look like.

  2. I like #5 with the abstract, design craziness going on. But it will probably look better when it is digitized. Keep in mind though that you dont want anything to busy because it will draw your eye away from what you are trying to advertise.

  3. sorry guys for the busyness, #1 is an dotted eye with a double helix emerging from it. Also, there is a vortex techy pattern on the side. #7 has the same vortex pattern, but with photoshop tools emerging from it. #6 is paint brush strokes, but with a vectorized man or image in the background with raised hands holding the tools. #5 speaks for itslef.

  4. I think the eye idea is overdone... If you want to use that you have to make it look really original. Same with the paint splatter but i like the idea of the tools coming out of it so I would say that is your strongest concept right now.

  5. I think that number 10 has some potential... I like the negative shape the 5 creates but i wouldn't add the tools... I also like number 4 because it's simple... the rest are a little to complicated...

  6. Honestly, I know they are sketches but they are all a little messy. I do like 5 in showing the tools used in the program. By now people who use the software know those tools. Although if the idea is not executed in just the right way in could dumb done the complex sophistication of the product. So be careful it doesn't turn out to look like Paint or something thats a simplified program.

    Good luck!

The over sized 5 in #10 seems like it would be eye catching! great ideas over all!

  8. The use of Photoshop tools as design elements is a good idea. I think you should create some kind of hierarchy in order to guide the viewer to the focal point of the design.

  9. Yeah, I like 5 & 10 as well. Using Adobe tools in the design is pretty neat. I also like 4 because of the swirl and how it sort of looks like a wave and maybe you can take that and morph it into another abstract idea.
